A check engine light can mean anything from a loose gas cap to a misfire that’s damaging your catalytic converter. We find the real cause before we recommend any repair.
Mon–Fri 8 AM–5 PM · By appointment · 1090 Wilson Ave, Daphne
A steady light means the car’s computer has stored a fault code. Get it checked soon, but it’s usually safe to drive to the shop.
A flashing light usually means a severe misfire. Ease off and get it looked at right away, because driving on it can overheat and ruin the catalytic converter.
A parts store can read the code for free, but the code only tells you which system reported a problem, not which part failed. An oxygen sensor code can come from a vacuum leak. A misfire code can be a spark plug, a coil, an injector or a compression problem. We test before we replace, so you don’t pay for parts you didn’t need.
Call to set up a time. We’ll scan the codes, test the system they point to, and explain in plain English what’s causing the light and what it’ll take to fix it.
We’re a family-owned shop in Daphne, open since 2015. Stuart and Erik Valentine are ASE certified and spent years at Nissan, Hyundai, Subaru and Toyota dealerships before opening the shop. We work on cars and light trucks, foreign and domestic.
