Clutch Repair in Daphne, AL

Clutch slipping, grinding into gear, or a pedal that just feels wrong? We repair and replace clutches on manual-transmission cars and light trucks.

Mon–Fri 8 AM–5 PM · By appointment · 1090 Wilson Ave, Daphne

Signs your clutch is wearing out

  • Engine revs climb but the car doesn’t speed up (slipping)
  • The clutch grabs very high in the pedal travel
  • Grinding when you shift
  • A pedal that’s soft, sticks or goes to the floor
  • A burning smell after hills or stop-and-go traffic
  • Shudder when you pull away from a stop

What a clutch job covers

A clutch replacement usually means a new clutch disc, pressure plate and release (throwout) bearing, with the flywheel checked and replaced if it’s worn.

It might not be the clutch itself. A soft or sticking pedal can come from the hydraulic system, the master or slave cylinder, which is a much smaller repair. We’ll tell you which one you’re dealing with before any work starts.

What to expect

Call to set up a time and tell us what the clutch is doing. We’ll check it over and explain in plain English what it needs.
